| Eventually, even flying becomes just a job. Getting up and going to work before sunrise still sucks, and a bad day at work is still just a bad day at work.
What can you do?
Do the best you can, and try to help others along the way. Teach someone something they didn't know, let someone else teach you something you didn't know. Take time off and get as far away from work as you can. Enjoy the wins: a first solo, a passed checkride, an approach to minimums, that perfect soft-field landing. Make new friends, keep up with old ones. Try to thank God even for the early mornings, late nights, and lousy days. Don't get too caught up in always chasing that magical next thing-the next rating, the next job, etc. If that is all you focus on it will eat you alive. But don't get too comfortable, either-there is always something better out there.

| I now have more time in the Twin Diamond than in the good old Duchess. How I miss those airplanes and their ratty interiors, decrepit avionics, and engines with an attitude.

| So tell me this-how can an entity continue to spend BILLIONS of dollars more per year than it is taking in? If I did that, I'd be broke in......0.001 seconds. Sure seems like the number of dollars going in should be equal to or greater than the number going out. But then what do I know, I'm just a dumb pilot.
Politicians are irresponsible crooks. But then again, the people demand more and more stuff from the government without raising taxes. Sorry, the government can't continue to create money out of thin air.

| Today I used a Special VFR clearance to get into the airport when it was dropping below IFR landing minima. It was interesting.
